Traditionally, one of the most effective means for the wider transmission of new ideas and knowledge in higher education has been through scholarly publication. This is the principal mechanism whereby universities assemble, store and disseminate the findings of their research. It is also important as a mechanism by which WMU its global responsibilities under our Charter to provide an international focus for networking and collaboration.
WMU Publications has been established as the route for publishing of scholarly books on maritime affairs written by WMU staff and external maritime experts linked to the University.
Maritime Law in Motion
This book provides valuable insights into various contemporary issues in public and private maritime law, including interdisciplinary aspects. The public law topics addressed include public international law and law of the sea, while a variety of private law topics are explored, e.g. commercial maritime law, conflict of laws, and new developments in the application of advanced technologies to maritime law issues.
