The World Maritime University (WMU) is fully funded by voluntary contributions. In 2018, WMU launched a Stewards of the Sea (SOS) campaign. The goal of which is to achieve the strategic objective of long-term financial stability and sustainability of the University while augmenting its capacity to continue to provide postgraduate education, training, research and capacity development on maritime and ocean related matters for government officials, particularly from developing countries, and industry stakeholders.
