Dr. Shan Hongjun, PhD in Law, currently presides as the President and Professor at Dalian Maritime University (DMU). Additionally, he serves as an International Executive Board Member of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU).
Dr. Shan completed his Bachelor Degree at DMU in 1991, progressed to a Master of Law specializing in maritime law from DMU in 1998, and subsequently attained an LLM from Tulane University in 2005. His scholarly pursuits culminated with a PhD in Law from Tulane University in 2007. In his earlier roles at DMU, Dr. Shan served as both Professor and Dean of the Law School before assuming the role of Vice President in September 2013. His notable career also includes holding the position of Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department at China’s Ministry of Transport from June 2017 until his appointment as President of DMU in June 2023.
