Satya is an Assistant Professor of Shipping Management and Finance at World Maritime University, Sweden. He teaches various modules in Shipping Management and Logistics (SML) and Port Management (PM) including Quantitative Methods and Market Analysis, Maritime Financial Management and Derivatives & Risk Management. Priory, he has taught various postgraduate, MBA and executive programmes in the UK and in India.
His research interests include Ship Finance, Economic Analysis of Shipping Markets, Freight & Commodity Derivatives, and Maritime Asset Management. His research papers have been presented at leading academic conferences, such as International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) and Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS). He has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Transportation Research Part A (ABS: 3; ABDC A*; IF: 2.61) and Transportation Research Part E (ABS: 3; ABDC A*; IF: 2.97). Also, he has served as reviewers for various international journals and conferences.
He is awarded a PhD in Finance from Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK. His doctoral research was sponsored by the ICMA Centre scholarship. He holds an MSc in Maritime Affairs specialising in Shipping Management & Logistics from World Maritime University, Sweden and a BEng in Marine from Marine Engineering Research Institute (Jadavpur University), India. He has also worked with Fleet Management LTD., Hong Kong as a Marine Engineer.
