In September 2022 Mikaela graduated with a Master’s in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation (DRMCCA) at Lund University. Her thesis involved examining spatial-temporal changes of coastal mangroves in Indonesia, to understand how the exposure of the local population to coastal hazards has changed over time. Her prior academic studies include a BSc in Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science from Lund University.
Along with her studies, Mikaela pursued her interests in environmental and ecosystem-based management by conducting internships with the Swedish International Development Agency’s (SIDA) Unit for Global Cooperation on Environment as well as the Scandinavian Green Roof Institute.
