Professor Dong Cheng joined World Maritime University in July 2024 where he serves as a Chinese Chair and is responsible for teaching in Maritime Energy Management (MEM) specialization.
Before joining WMU, he has been working at Dalian Maritime University (DMU) for almost thirty years. In DMU he served as the Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office and the Vice Dean of Marine Engineering College. He has done the research in the following areas: (1) Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis Based on Acoustic Emission; (2) Designing & Manufacturing of Marine Propeller; (3) Intelligent perception technologies based on fusion of multi-source 3D information. He has further interests in decarbonization in the maritime industry.
