WMU Delegation Presents at Swedish Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure

On 6 November, a delegation from the World Maritime University (WMU) visited the Swedish Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure. Mr. Johan Davidson, State Secretary to the Minister, welcomed Professor Maximo Q. Mejia, WMU President, Professor Dong-Wook Song, and Professor Johan Hollander for the visit. 

During the visit, President Mejia made presentations about 40 Years of the World Maritime University, as well as maritime safety and security in the Philippines with experience and perspectives from the Aquino presidency. Professor Song made a presentation about multimodal transport in a Swedish context. The audience included participants from the Ministries of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure, Foreign Affairs, and the Environment. 

Sweden has been the host country of WMU since the University was inaugurated in 1983, and WMU is the only United Nations institution that is headquartered in Sweden.
