Two EPDCs Delivered in Jakarta

From 9-13 February, two Executive Professional Development Courses (EPDCs) were delivered by WMU in Jakarta, Indonesia in collaboration with the Center for Coastal and Marine Resources Studies (CCMRS) at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). Each of the 5-day IMO Module Courses included 15 participants.

Vessel Traffic Information System was delivered by WMU Associate Professor, Michael Baldauf, and provided an overview of the variety of vessel traffic information systems, particularly in reference to IMO and IALA rules and regulations related to establishing and operating vessel traffic services.

WMU Assistant Professor, Dimitrios Dalaklis, delivered a course based on IMO Model Course 6.10 – Train the Simulator Trainer and Assessor. The course focused on the knowledge and skills necessary for trainees to administer, supervise, and assess training and learning facilitated by simulators for the achievement of the competencies set out in the STCW Convention.

The courses were made possible under a Memorandum of Understanding that was signed between IPB and WMU in July of 2014.
