MaRiSa Research Group Presents at SAFEPEC Workshop
From 3-4 December, partners of the SAFEPEC consortium met at DNV GL headquarters in Hamburg. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss coordination of research activities as well as ways to involve ideas and concepts of maritime stakeholders to pro-actively improve maritime safety through enhanced risk-based inspection regimes.
Members of the WMU Maritime Risk and Safety (MaRiSa) Research Group, WMU Associate Professor Michael Baldauf and Research Assistant Armando Graziano, gave presentations during the two-day workshop to communicate the research steps that have been developed by WMU to date to reach as many players involved in the inspection regimes as possible. In the first project phase, WMU will collect and analyze relevant accident and incident data from different sources including external partners and institutions. The next meeting of the project partners is planned for early February to review and plan for workshops.
