Three executive professional development courses were delivered in Alexandria, Egypt as part of the Joint Action Plan in support of the MoU signed on 25 November 2013 with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, & Maritime Transport (AASTMT). Each 5-day course included twenty participants and was designed to provide insight into the delivery of competence-based curricula and to develop the associated knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for the efficient delivery of training courses per STCW standards.

The first two weeks were delivered by Associate Professor Michael Manuel. Course one entitled Training Course for Instructors in Maritime Training Institutions was based on IMO Model Course 6.09 and took place from 1-5 June.
