Discussions on the behalf of WMU were led by Professor Olof Lindén, Director of Research and the PhD Programme, Professor Larry Hildebrand, Head of Marine Environmental and Ocean Management, Professor Ayukut Ölcer, Director of the PG Diploma in Maritime Energy Management, Associate Professor Dimitrios Dalaklis, and several Research Associates and Assistants were in attendance.

The purpose of the meeting was for the Agency to learn more about WMU and to determine opportunities for collaboration. Discussion topics included implementation and use of the Clean Shipping Index (CSI), prevention of invasive species, marine spatial planning (MSP), oil spills and wrecks, and ecosystem services. The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to continue discussions including the potential for WMU experts to join Sweden’s scientific reference group for the MSP efforts.
