Dr Jovanović has nearly 20 years of experience in port planning and management, inland and seaports operations. He mastered waterborne transport engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Novi Sad and has a doctoral degree in nautical science and engineering, majoring in port planning, obtained at the Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona.
In his pre-consulting years, Dr Jovanović worked in the port of Barcelona and in port logistics in Serbia. He was engaged in planning and monitoring of port operations and port labour planning and he also participated in drafting of the new Law on navigation and ports on inland waters in Serbia.
Dr Jovanović has been working as a port consultant at iC consulenten since 2012. He participated in various port development projects, including the seaport of Bar (Montenegro), inland ports of Brčko (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sisak (Croatia), Šabac (Serbia) and Prahovo (Serbia). He is currently engaged as a port expert for the Rhine-Danube Core Network Corridor study since 2014 and as a port expert in the Smederevo port concession study. Dr Jovanović was a leading expert for port development and strategy within the multinational project Danube Ports Network.
