She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Aquatic Science from Egerton University in Kenya, a Master of Science in Limnology and Wetland Management from a joint program between BOKU University (Austria), Egerton University (Kenya), and UNESCO-IHE Delft (The Netherlands), and a PhD in Maritime Affairs from WMU.
