Peyman holds a Bachelor degree from Tehran Polytechnic and a Master degree from Sharif University of Technology (SUT), both in marine engineering and naval architecture. Over the course of 17 years, he was employed by National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC), one of the world's largest tanker fleets, since 2000. After 13 years of experience aboard different types and sizes of tankers and attaining unlimited chief engineer competency, he joined the company's headquarter office to work in the energy management department as fleet performance superintendent and company energy auditor. A six-month cadetship has been completed by Peyman in Iran's Sadra shipbuilding yard. Additionally, he has participated in many drydock and retrofit operations, as well as new ship deliveries. As an energy auditor, Peyman has performed ship energy inspections and analysed ship energy performance on a daily basis. Peyman received his second master's degree in 2018 and his Ph.D. in 2023, both from WMU in shipping energy management and policy. Along with his PhD progress and publications in leading journals, Peyman has been involved in several academic projects at WMU, including ITF Culture of Adjustment, EU Horizon CyberMAR, WMU/ITF Transport 2040, EU Horizon Seanergy, as well as net-zero emission short sea transportation in the Faroe Islands (Nordic Energy Research).
