Ms. Mercedes Troisi Allende joined the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute in April 2021 and currently holds the role of Project and Operations Assistant. Mercedes provides support to the GOI Director, the Project Engagement and Implementation Manager and assists respective Project Principal Investigators. Her responsibilities include providing support to the Institute’s projects, to its operational and financial management and to the coordination and organization of all outreach events under the Ocean Research Agenda 2019-2023.

Prior to joining WMU, Mercedes worked in the private Finance and Consulting sector, where she worked as a Client Financial Management Analyst and a Business Intelligence Analyst. She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires (Magna Cum Laude) and a MSc in International Relations from the University of Glasgow (with Merit). 

Mercedes is passionate about traveling, trying new foods and experiencing different cultures. Mercedes is fluent in Spanish, English and French. After her relocation to Sweden in August 2021, she is also taking Swedish language lessons.
