Dr. Jose Gonzalez Celis is a senior maritime professional who combines more than 20 years of relevant experience with a great passion for the shipping industry.
Dr. Gonzalez career began as a seagoing engineer on board RoRos, LPG tankers and Bulk carriers prior moving ashore. Over the last 15 years he has been working both in shipping and power generation businesses, leading Environmental, Sustainability and Energy departments for different companies like Cummins Engine Company, Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and Stolt Tankers.
Dr. Gonzalez is currently working for CLIA Europe (Cruise Lines International Association) as Senior Director Sustainability based in Brussels (Belgium). He is responsible for advancing policies and activities that best represent the interests of CLIA members before regulatory authorities and with industry partners; the position also supports the implementation of new regulatory requirements in the areas of environment and safety.
