Hannes von Knorring is a Principal Consultant at DNV, a leading global provider of assurance and advisory services for the maritime industry. He has been working with decarbonisation in the maritime sector, from energy efficiency and alternative fuels to CO2 shipping and AI onboard, since 2009.
Hannes von Knorring holds a MSc in Engineering Physics and a PhD in Shipping and Marine Technology, both from Chalmers University of Technology. In his academic career, he has used a wide range of research methods from energy modeling to qualitative management research. Hannes has been a Post Doctoral Researcher at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Graduate School of Public Policy,University of Tokyo. He has published research on energy efficiency in the shipping sector in leading academic journals such as Transportation Research Part A and D.
