Panama Canal Authority Visits WMU

On 4 July, WMU welcomed three distinguished visitors from the Panama Canal Authority (PCA); Mr. Jorge Quijano, Executive Vice President Department of Engineering and Program Management, Mr. Rodolfo Sabonge, Vice President Market Research & Analysis Office, and Mr. Boris Zachrisson, Executive Manager, Energy Division, Department of Environment, Water and Energy. Mr. Quijano, designated as the new Panama Canal Administrator/CEO effective 4 September 2012, delivered an insightful presentation to the Shipping and Ports Management students about the Panama Canal including the expansion project which is currently underway. Following the presentation the distinguished visitors from Panama had an informal session with students after which WMU President, Dr. Björn Kjerfe, delivered a presentation about WMU and opened the discussions for potential collaboration between the Panama Canal Authority and WMU.
