OPRF Hosts Sasakawa Fellows' Gathering Orientation Reception

On 3 October 2012 the Ocean Policy Research Foundation (OPRF) organized its second “Sasakawa Fellows' Gathering Orientation Reception” at WMU in Malmö, Sweden. The event is intended to strengthen the network and communication opportunities among the 27 incumbent Sasakawa Fellowship students from the Class 2012 and the 23 incoming Fellowship students from the Class 2013. A group photo session was followed by an Orientation in CPS Hall for the new Fellows providing information on the Sasakawa Fellowship Program and its relations with The Nippon Foundation, OPRF, and Japan Motorboat Racing. Four students from the Class of 2012 provided presentations on their specialization and shared their experiences of studying at WMU and living in Malmö. The event concluded with a reception providing the Fellows an opportunity to meet informally with their Japanese hosts Mr. Eisuke Kudo, Special Advisor of OPRF, Mr. Shinichi Ichikawa, Manager of the International Affairs Team of the Maritime Technology Department of OPRF, and WMU staff.
