Kalmar Global Visits WMU

On 2 September, WMU welcomed two representatives from Kalmar Global, HR Manager Ms. Gunilla Svantesson and Technical Trainer Mr. Conny Eliasson. For several years Kalmar Global has hosted field studies at their premises in Sweden for the Port Management specialization students and this past spring, they hosted a three-day field study to Poland. The students visited the Kalmar Global premises in Lidhult, their production site in Szczecin, and the Port of Gdynia.

During their visit to WMU, the representatives met with faculty including Patrick Donner, Associate Academic Dean, Professor Daniel Seong-Hyeok Moon, Head of Shipping Management and Logistics and Port Management, and Professor Dong-Wook Song, Korean Professorial Chair.  Discussions included options for continued as well as further collaboration. The visit also included an opportunity for the guests to meet with several of the port management students and learn more about their backgrounds and experiences while studying at WMU.

Kalmar Global provides cargo handling solutions and services to ports, terminals, distribution centers, and heavy industry. To learn more, click here.
