HE Shunji Yanai gave a public lecture

On February 3, HE Shunji Yanai, Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in Hamburg, gave a public lecture on "Role of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in the Peaceful Settlement of Maritime Disputes " at WMU. In addition to students from the MSc in Maritime Affairs, some twenty students from Lund University and WMU staff attended the lecture, and were delighted to meet Judge Yanai at the reception following the lecture.

Previously, WMU has welcomed Judges Thomas A. Mensah, L. Dolliver M. Nelson and Vladimir Vladimirovich Golitsyn from the ITLOS on the occasion of lectures and conferences. Judge Yanai's visit to the WMU strengthened the continuing academic cooperation between the ITLOS Judges and WMU.
