2011 accelerated program starts

Five new students joined the Class of 2011 on 10 January; they had been granted advanced standing to join the accelerated 11-month programme.  The group is made up of (from left to right) Abdulhusain Abdulla and Mayas Alagha, from Bahrain’s General Organization of Ports, Joseph Ake of the Nigerian Navy (funded by the Bayelsa State Scholarship Board), Jolyn Tay from Singapore’s Maritime & Port Authority, and Johan Svensson, funded by the Swedish Trust Fund.  They will be joined in early March by a sixth student, Edy Dani of Lebanon, who is returning to the University to complete his MSc.  This brings the intake to the Class of 2011 to 106.
