On 17 September, WMU Professor Jens-Uwe Schröder-Hinrichs visited the Abeking & Rasmussen Shipyard of Lemwerder, Germany. Abeking & Rasmussen are the makers of the unique chart table that was donated to the MaRiSa simulator lab for its inauguration this past May. The handcrafted table was built by nine apprentices and the instructors of the apprentice workshop at Abeking & Rasmussen and Professor Shröder Hinrichs visited the makers in order to thank them personally for their efforts and as a follow-up to the visit of WMU President Björn Kjerfve in February of last year. Abeking & Rasmussen is famous for luxurious yards world-wide and light-weight ships of unusal design.
