Introduced in 2014, the Maritime Energy PgDip provides up-to-date analyses of current initiatives and future developments in energy efficient shipping. The 12-month program is comprised of five modules and the first course began14 July 2014.
Introduced in 2005, the Marine Insurance PgDip has been developed to enable students to study the subject at the highest educational level. The 12-month program is made up of five modules and has an intake each summer with courses generally beginning in September.
International Maritime Law
The International Maritime Law PgDip has been offered since 2002 by Lloyd’s Maritime Academy and is from 2015 in a new partnership with WMU. The programme develops academic knowledge and awareness of international trade and maritime law and increases understanding of how commercial trade ventures may give rise to legal issues.
Executive Maritime Management
The World Maritime University (WMU) and DNV GL’s Maritime Academy have joined forces to offer an innovative Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) at the executive managerial level. Designed to provide a boot camp for managers, the programme addresses current topics of critical importance in the maritime industry with a blended-learning approach to operational, commercial and technical issues.
Maritime Safety & Security
The World Maritime University (WMU) and DNV GL’s Maritime Academy have partnered to offer a Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Safety & Security. Within the maritime industry the focus is always on safety, with security recently gaining increasing attention given the global context. Within the maritime sector this covers the headline issue of piracy and terrorism but also includes trafficking, illegal fishing, port security and marine environmental protection, including the dumping of toxic waste.
