Nigerian Minister of Transport Visits WMU

Senator the Honorable Minister of Transport, Idris Abdullahi Umar with some of the Nigerian students currently enrolled at WMU.
On 24 August WMU welcomed a distinguished delegation of Nigerian visitors that included Senator the Honorable Minister of Transport Idris Abdullahi Umar as well as Rector of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron, Mr. Joshua Enun Okpo, and Director of the Maritime Services Department for the Federal Ministry of Transport, Mr. Musa Suleiman Nagogo. The visit centered on ways WMU can collaborate with the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron and included the opportunity for many of the current Nigerian students to meet the delegation.

WMU participated in the Maritime Day event held on 16 May in Mariehamn, Åland. WMU was represented by Associate Academic Dean Patrick Donner and Senior Faculty Specialist, Mia Hedin.
During the week of 13-17 May, WMU hosted the second of two workshops entitled Train-the-Trainer Initiative on Energy Efficient Operations of Ships.
