EXECUTIVE AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES
WMU has led numerous Executive and Professional Development Courses (EPDC), training thousands of maritime professionals in various locations around the world. These courses provide an opportunity for mid-career updating and knowledge sharing for maritime professionals. EPDCs range in length from a few days to several weeks and the blend of academic expertise and hands-on practical experience can be immediately applied in the workplace. Topics addressed meet current and future needs of the maritime market, particularly in key IMO-mandated areas.
EPDCs are can be tailor made to meet the educational requirements of a particular organization and a close relationship is established between the client and WMU’s executive education staff from the initial course design. Joint efforts are made to ensure that problems encountered by the organization are thoroughly analyzed and the key issues clearly identified. This allows for the teaching and learning objectives to be well formulated, corresponding programme curricula drafted, and the most suitable instructors selected.

The pricing depends on, among other things, content, level of customization, location, length of course, number of participants, and number of instructors. The price of the course will be negotiated directly with the client. In addition to course fees, the customer will also be required to cover:
- Travel costs for the instructor(s)
- Transportation by private car from the airport to the hotel and return
- Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) in accordance with the UN rate per instructor
