The World Maritime University (WMU) has partnered with Region Skåne, Swedish Ports, Lighthouse Swedish Maritime Competence Centre and the City of Malmö on a cutting-edge event, Ports and Port-Cities - Post 2030, that will take place from 6 to 8 November in Malmö, Sweden.

The Conference will focus on ports and port-cities worldwide taking into consideration the multitude of functions involved as well as the significant changes currently taking place. Decision makers from across the broad spectrum of relevant stakeholders will find inspiration and guidance on a range of key topics that are shaping ports and port-cities today taking into account important future developments. The conference will strengthen the knowledge and networks for the regional development agenda. The maritime context of Malmö and Skåne will be considered providing the regional port community with the opportunity to provide input on upcoming decisions intended to promote the transfer of more cargo from roads to ships.

The conference supports the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and in particular Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation. The event will also address how to ensure safe, efficient and environmentally friendly shipping in line with a number of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Delegates from ports, port authorities, port owners, terminal operators, shipping companies, ship owners, logistics companies, environmentalists, technology providers, service providers, port city/regional planners, politicians, trade unions from all levels, EU-administration and all stakeholders with an interest in ports and port-cities are invited to join the conference that will look at how to anticipate the unexpected and provide a global perspective and inspiration for what the future may hold.
