Field Studies Program
M.Sc. students benefit from a unique program of global field studies at host organizations such as shipping companies, ports authorities, maritime administrations, and other governmental and non-governmental organizations, throughout the world. The co-operation of an enormous range of global institutions offers a unique opportunity to experience the application of the latest therories and technologies in real-life maritime situations, and to forge bonds with a global network of maritime professionals.
The program varies each year and by specialization. Examples of previous destinations are listed below.
Port Management destinations typically include Denmark, Singapore, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany (Hamburg) and other major port operations
Maritime Law & Policy destinations typically include the Hague, Hamburg (ITLOS), Chile (Santiago), and IMO in London
Maritime Education & Training destinations typically include universities/institutions in France, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden
Shipping Management & Logistics destinations typically include Greece, Norway (Oslo), Sweden (Gothenburg) and Germany (Hamburg) and other major shipping destinations
Marine Environmental & Ocean Management destinations typically include Canada, Germany, Sweden (Stockholm) and Norway
Maritime Safety & Environmental Administration destinations typically include Turkey (Istanbul), Malta, Korea (Pusan/Seoul), Germany, Norway and Denmark
